If I had help with the writing, at least for the PPVs, I'd be willing to try and run something

Freak,

I'm more than willing to work with anyone who's willing to get on board with it.

To be honest, Morri's been absolutely right in everything he's said with regard to the changes needed....

Only thing holding me up is I have no PC access at home for around a week or two but beyond that I'm happy to help.

Ideally, I want at least 10 numbers together before I come up with a name, roster thread and so on....

Could someone help round up the troops while I don't have net access?

Now that my computer screen is no longer completely destroyed, I'd love to join back into a fed, I'll get my stats up later today.

I'd be willing to co-own with this guy

I am going to bow out at least for the moment. With the divorce and work I have a lot of things going on. I am going to be strapped for cash. I might have to actually get rid of the internet entirely.

Good luck Frost...

Anyway, this is my intent for posting in this here thread.

I think it would make match writing much less of a burden and make it easier for people to be willing to write them, or for an owner to quickly crank one out at the last minute, if needed.

Here's a quick made-up example:

No need to spell out every punch and suplex, and it can still get the points across.
While a good idea in theory, I think this kind of sort of rips off the people who put forth time and effort into promo-ing. You post several heavy hitters that take you a few hours to come up with (if that's the case, as it is with me honestly), and all you get is basically a small blurb...kind of takes the wind out of the sails in terms of wanting to promo.

That being said, my idea...

It would not be difficult to cobble together a roster of people dying to get something moving again in the R-fed forum. I do like the idea of **ABBREVIATED** matches. Not saying necessarily just a blurb, but maybe just few paragraphs. Some guidelines for matches - maybe a word limit (or in the event you might have the forethought as a match-writer to write in a word processing program, a page limit) something to kind of lay the foundation of a format. I dunno, I'm finding it difficult to explain. Shortened matches for the shows, not like a paragraph, but definitely shorter than what's been offered up in the past. Not too short, but not too long. Like, the average length of one of my promos. Since I write long promos (but I end up writing several of them), I don't think that's too much, and it'd feel like a payoff of some sort.

You get together a show schedule of maybe two shows a month, four PPVs a year. Months where there're PPVs, you do just one show which would lead up to the PPV. Pay Per Views would be the exception to the match-writing thing... I think that the PPVs would be special based on the attempt to go "all-out." I think that'd be doable. You're not pressuring anyone to bust their ass on getting promos up, and you're giving match writers roughly ten days to slap something together pre-show and four days of fine-tuning and editing.

I'd be willing to participate in something like that. Shit, I'd be willing to go committee in terms of ownership of the same.

Any takers?

I don't write my promos to get an awesome epic long match written in return. I write my promos because it's fun, because I want to advance the feud, and because I want other people to read them and enjoy them. I write them to win my matches, too, since I was always led to believe the better promoer would win, unless it didn't fit the storyline plan.

I'd feel ripped off if I just got:

mth def. Travis McCoy

But if I got even a paragraph or two in the style I wrote, I'd be perfectly happy. As long as it gets the point/story of the match across, gives me the general idea of what happened, and covers the major spots of importance, I don't see why you need it all written out blow-for-blow and I don't feel like I need that in exchange for writing my promos. For the regular shows, keep them shorter, even one paragraph, for the PPV matches, they could be longer, like you're saying, three or four paragraphs if needed.

For me, the payoff is the match. Not necessarily the win, but definitely the match. I know how I write the character's mannerisms, but the payoff for me is to see someone else write it. The fun (and character, for that matter) loses its luster if there isn't something to look forward to.

I think we're on the same page, man. Abbreviated matches in comparison to what's been offered before. I think our quarrel would simply be an issue of what would be acceptable - which could easily be compromised. PPVs would be the exception, of course. Because there'd be more time to offer up for it if done properly.

Anyway, I'm just reiterating this as a possible solution. And if anyone's interested in partnering up for "ownership," I'd throw my hat in. My theory is to have someone else to share responsibilities with to keep my ego in check. So we don't have Wiz as champ for life.

Just sayin'...
